Stronger

Hey Ladies!  What a week!!!  Have you been challenged in surrendering your strongholds? Honestly that’s an understatement in my world! It’s been a very trying week, but also a rewarding one. With every challenge, we are faced with the choice…move closer to God or closer to that which is trying to claim it’s hold over us.  The Lord was indeed my portion and strength this week and I hope that’s the case for you too.

How’s that memory verse coming for you?  I’m not going to write it in this post because you were supposed to memorize it this week.  How did you do?  Do you see the benefits of memorizing Scripture?  If  so, what?  Could it be that it makes you stronger?  OH MY DID SOMEONE JUST SAY STRONGER???

Ok ladies, if you memorized this week’s verse, 2 Timothy 1:7, write it in the comment section. If you get it correct, you will be entered to win Mandisa’s latest Cd, What If We Were Real.

Good Luck! I’ll announce the winner in Sunday’s Week 8 Assignments Post.

Have a great weekend! Love y’all!  <3

Triumph Through Trials

This has been a good week huh?  Well, maybe a tough week too.  I know this material is tough stuff, but I’m so proud of you for hanging in there.  I hope you are implementing all you are learning.  Surrendering your strongholds is easier said than done.

Tonight I was reading in my His Princess, Love Letters From Your King book.  This is a book that I found completely by accident. I was waiting in line at a women’s retreat to buy a few books.  I only had a little bit of money to spend and I had my limit worth’s in my hands.  Then I saw this book.  I picked it up and never put it down again.  It spoke to me in a way that no other book had before.  Here in one place were letters to me from God, all based on Scripture.  So personal. And so relational.  I felt for the first time, that God was speaking to me.

I know we all wonder if God can work through our trials.  Well not only can He work through them, but He can triumph through them.

My Princess…

Triumph Through Trials

I see you when you are in the garden of grief, My princess.  I hear your cry for help in the dark hours of the night. I Myself cried out in the garden the night I was betrayed.  In My suffering I asked My Father for another way—a less painful way. Yet I trusted His will and purpose for My life and knew the ultimate victory was at the cross. Just as olives must be crushed to make oil, I poured out My life as a love offering for you.  Don’t ever doubt that I am with you and that I long to take you to a place of comfort, peace, and victory. Even when you cannot see Me from where you are, I am working on your behalf.  Give to Me the crushing weight of your circumstances, and come to Me in prayer.  When it is time to leave the garden, I will walk with you across the valley and straight to the cross—where your trials will be transformed to triumph.

Love,

Your Savior and your Victor

“For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when our endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.” James 1:3-4

Let me know how you are doing this week.

Love and Blessings to each of you!

Memorizing Scripture

Today we are adding something new to our weekly assignments… Scripture memorization.

Wendy Blight mentions many times over in her book, Hidden Joy in a Dark Corner, how God’s Word is so powerful and was/is instrumental in her healing, hope for her future, and freedom in everyday life. When we can draw from God’s Word to help us, there is power that can sustain us to get through.

This week’s verse to commit to memory is 2 Timothy 1:7. This is the New Living Translation, but you can use any Bible translation you prefer.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

Learn this verse and commit it to your memory. Each time you find yourself focusing on your weaknesses or feeling afraid or insecure, say this verse to yourself.  Replace those negative words in your head with the Truth from 2 Timothy 1:7.  God has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. When we can get God’s Word into our minds, it moves into our hearts, then flows out in our actions.  Let’s give it a try this week!

Just like your Sunday School class back when you were little, you’ll have the chance to win a prize if you memorize this verse.  Memorize it by Friday and you could win Mandisa’s latest CD, featuring the hit song, Stronger.

Have a beautiful day friends!  Protect yourself with the power of God’s Word and begin surrendering your strongholds to the only One Who can truly defeat them and set you free.

Blessings!
