Yesterday I returned from a trip that until the very last minute I didn’t know I would be able to take. I had the honor and privilege to cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Cozumel and back with Premier Christian Cruiseline and the Girl’s Getaway Cruise. (I will have lots more about this at a later time.) It was a time I won’t soon forget.
I have a new fire in my heart. I feel unstoppable. Empowered. Full of love and compassion. I have the urge to bless others as much as I can. Renewed. Refreshed. Ready. Strong. This is not from me, it’s from God.
It was such a blessing for me to find out upon returning from my trip, that the Bible study began without a hitch! (Rare indeed!) It was even a bigger blessing for me to read your comments and see how you have already begun sharing with me and each other. I love our community here so much.
If you are sticking to our “suggested” assignments for Week 1, then you have read the intro and Chapter 1 and are beginning to dig into your reflection questions for Chapter 1. What do you think so far? Are you feeling as EMPOWERED as I am?
Empowered is our word of the week. Don’t let it intimidate you. Remember our power is not from us. It’s not willpower, it’s God Power.
I’m praying for each of us:
~that we will dare to believe this time is different (no matter what your craving is)
~that we will give up, surrender, get closer to God by distancing ourselves from other things that might be permissable but aren’t beneficial.
~that we will not focus on a number, but we will focus on healthy choices…one choice at a time.
~that God will give us the desire to be healthy.
~that even though it won’t be easy, we will be EMPOWERED.
Can I hear an “amen” from my sisters in the group?
Remember how Jesus drove Satan away. He quoted Scripture. Ladies, in the midst of attack, do not give in by retaliating, taking out your fear and frustrations on yourself or others, but by going to God’s Word.
Our memory verse for this week (which I forgot to post yesterday) is:
1 Corinthians 10:23, “Everything is permissible”—but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissable”—but not everything is constructive. (NIV)
Allow this to EMPOWER you.
And if you need a little more empowering, watch this…a blast from the past…last year’s theme song in MTC and me making a fool of myself, yet again lol! Enjoy at my expense! (if you can’t see the video below, click here to view on my actual blog)
I hardly know what to say after that….but I bet it’s stuck in your head for the rest of today! “I Got Da Powahhhh!”
The point of today’s message is to remind you that you are empowered by God, His Word can get your through, and you need to add a little song and dance to your day!
Big Blessings Y’all! I love ya way big! <3

I am a little behind but catching up and will be “in place” by Saturday evening.
I’m looking foward to this journey with like minded people–and not just in losing weight but in our walk with Jesus.
This year was the first year I didn’t make a “new years resolution”. Instead I was making a list of things I wanted to accomplish and yes, losing weight was on that list. When I reviewed the list I asked myself why I wanted to do these things I started to pray about them as I realized many of them have been on my “resolution list” for many, many years. As I was praying I got this sense that Jesus was telling me that those things wouldn’t truly satisfy me unless I did them “for the glory of Christ” and I felt this amazing feeling…and instead of just a list I now have a theme and it is “Let my Life Song Sing to You”–I’m sort of inspired by music and so I began and already He has laid this tool, this bible study and all of you at my feet so that what I do is all for His glory and it just feels so good! It feels like my “craving” has begun to be satisfied.
On more than one occasion I have accidentally referred to Lisa’s book, “Made to Crave” as “Born to Crave”. (for 2nd edition, I recommend she change the title) LOL.
From the day we were born we have an urge-cravings. I love feeling “empowerment” to chase the important things in my life. i.e. healthy lifestyle, wealth, loving relationships.
I got the POWER from this study.
Thank you.
I also purchased the Action Plan DVD & it said that we could get a free Go Guide on Dr. Chilton’s website http://www.genesmart.com but I am unable to find it. Can you please show me where to find the downloadable guide that they are talking about? They said that it has 80 different items with the fiber amounts and would be very helpful for shopping. Thank you.
i have to say that I got the Powahh video clip was amazing!!! i loved it made me smile and will def stick in my head…..I GOT THE POWAHHH
Today I am doing Chapter 2 in the study, I know I am a little behind but I still wanted to leave a little comment to help encourage others.
Today I read a verse in a devotion that I wanted to share, it spoke to me today. This verse was 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” I think this relates to the study because I know that sometimes I hope that being healthier will just be easier and that it is not going fast enough, but I think it is because God wants me to learn to be patient in every way so that I am learning what He has for me and accomplishing everything in His time.
