No Room For Fear, We Got the Spirit

I received a letter today from a sweet gal in our Online Bible Study group. I loved what she had to say so much that I asked her if I could share.  I bet you can relate to her fears and hopefully you will be reassured by the message God gave her through His Word.

Thanks Sarah for letting me share this!

Hi Melissa…
I hope you are feeling 100% better.  I wanted to share with you a little more from my heart, if you don’t mind. (If you do, you can just stop readng! hahaha!)
Anyways, I have to admit to you that I’m terrified to be without the excitement of the Made to Crave Bible study.  I’ve progressed so much over the last 6 weeks.  I was so sad you were sick, but I felt a relief, like, “Whew, that granted me one more week.”
So, I’ve been praying, asking God to keep me focused on him, to remember all the truths I’ve learned, etc.  I even ordered the devotional to help me along.  But, I must admit, I kind of like the accountability and hand holding this study offered. So, when I realize the end of the study was drawing near, I just felt destined to fail.  BUT GOD…He gets me.  And He gave me just what I needed!
Last night at Bible Study someone quoted this verse and I just felt like jumping up and down…
“Are you so foolish?  After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human efforts?”  Galatians 3:3.  What an amazing verse!
I somehow got so caught up in my worry and fret that I forgot that the Spirit is there, even when these Bible studies are not.  I can’t do it by human efforts anyways, its simply allowing myself to be surrended to the Spirit and God’s leading.
Anyways, I thought that was the most beautiful verse that God gave me, and I wanted to share it with you, just incase anyone else was emailing you worried about the study being over.
Thank you for the hard work that goes into this ministry.  I can’t wait to study Micca Campbell’s book with you!
Love and blessings,
Sarah Humes
A grateful heart is a happy heart!!!

Can you relate to Sarah?  Share your thoughts in the comment section of my blog. I’d love to hear your perspective on how the end of this study will effect you.
Also, if you haven’t read Stephanie Clayton’s message, Sin Plays Dirty, hop on over there right now! I’ve decided to give not 1 but 3 copies of An Untroubled Heart away. Just read her absolutely True message and leave a comment on her blog. You’ll be entered. I’ll announce the winners in Sunday’s post!

Many thanks to all who have prayed for me and sent me sweet messages to get well. I’m feeling so much better.
Have a great weekend y’all. And thank you Sarah for allowing me to share your email with our group. You are a blessing to us!
Much Love,
Melissa

Is it really Thursday?

Hello Sisters!  I’m peeking out from under my covers for the first time in a while. I’ve slept a total of 62 hours since Sunday night and while you would think I would feel rested, I’m still a bit run down. The flu is not kind. On the bright side, I don’t have a fever today, so I’m praising Jesus for that!

We have rescheduled Pastor Matthew Barnett’s conference call for those who are participating in them. It will be February 29th at 1:00 pm EST.  I’ll send you the details Monday.

I tried to think of something awesome to post today, but it turns out I didn’t have to. I found it somewhere else. Stephanie Clayton wrote an excellent message called “Sin Plays Dirty.” It spoke to me as pure Truth. It is profound, to the point, convicting, and will make you think. We all need people we can be real with our ugly stuff and she addresses this.  So check it out and leave her a comment today. In fact, I so want you to read it, that if you leave a comment, you will be entered to win An Untroubled Heart, our next online study book.

You have 24 hours to leave a comment to be entered. The comment must be left on Stephanie’s blog, not mine. An email doesn’t count either. The comment must be on her blog.

Be blessed! Hope you all are happy and healthy!

Surprise! It’s Catch Up Week

This is a rare occasion, but due to circumstances out of my control, we will not have Week 6 of Bible study this week.  We are calling this “Catch Up” week.  I’m sure some of you are jumping up and down celebrating!  I’ve heard from many who are behind, so hopefully this will be a good thing for you.

I am sick. Fever. Chills. Sweats. I just woke up after sleeping for 16 straight hours, so I’m staying in bed.  I want to finish strong and I’m not feeling so strong.

Those of you signed up for conference calls this week, keep checking your emails. Right now they are still on, but that could change depending on how I’m feeling.

Stay well and take care of yourselves!

Oh, and don’t forget about the live webcast, “How Big is Your But” tonight!  I was supposed to be interviewed live, but doesn’t look like that was meant to be    :( .   You can watch the live webcast at 8 pm EST on Lysa’s Blog.  It’s going to be great!

Thank you so much for understanding. We will pick up with Week 6 next Sunday. Keep checking my blog this week, MelissaTaylor.org for new messages and updates. Also visit the Online Bible Studies Info Page for the latest on our next Online Study, An Untroubled Heart, beginning March 18th. You can sign up in the right sidebar of my blog.

Hope all of you are doing better than me!  Love and Healthy Blessings,

Melissa
