What Are My Priorities?

by Melissa Taylor

Tuesday: Review Chapter 6, practice your memory verse, and check in at our gathering place, my blog, MelissaTaylor.org .  (Did everyone but me know you don’t need the www in front of a web address anymore?  My son shared that with me a few days ago. “Mom, really, you didn’t know that?”  ~ Uh, no.)

Happy Tuesday Y’all!  Were you able to read Chapter 6 yesterday?  I hope so, because today I’m hoping you will share with us a little about your priorities!

Beginning on p. 70 (in the paperback), Glynnis asks us some questions to help define our priorities. In your notebook or journal today, answer those questions.  Here they are:

1.  What can only I do?

2.  What has God entrusted to me?

3.  Am I a good steward of what I already have?

4.  What passion (or dream) has God put in my heart?

5.  What has God asked me to do that I haven’t done yet?

Now make sure before you answer these that you read Chapter 6. Glynnis explains at the end that this isn’t easy and it may take a while to work out. That’s ok, we have to start somewhere and these questions are a great place to start in defining our priorities.

After you’ve answered these questions, could you do me a big favor? I’ve forgotten our memory verse for this week! Could each of you please write it for me in the comment section of this blog?  How can this verse help us?  2 of you who do this will win the conference call series that begins next Monday night!

Again, it’s not too late to sign up for our A+ conference call series featuring some outstanding guests. Information here.

Thank you for showing up for Bible study today :)

:) so glad I am not the only one posting here today!

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12.2 NKJV

Just waking every day, asking God to help me through the day, by keeping my focus on HIM, even when the world attacks . . . to be renewed, as often as I can, through prayer and scripture. Sounds easy, but some days it really is hard to make good choices! Those days, though, feel like triumphant wins as I lay me down to sleep, I know the Lord is smiling for me. . .

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NLT)

While looking for a inspiration story for my friend, I came across this which applies so well in our study. Hope y’all enjoy reading >> “Many women have one clear priority : get through the day. ..You go through life on autopilot. You rarely stop long enough to consider how you spend your time & energy. Yet w/out determining whether your priorities match your reality and your values, you will be continually out of synch w/ yourself. Living a priority-centered life means balancing responsibilty to others w/ responsibility to oneself, obligations w/enjoyment, work w/play, activity w/rest. It means finding a natural rhythm to your day-to-day life that will support an atomosphere of fulfillment. It means getting your priorities straight!”
