Week 9, I Used to Be So Organized

Can you believe that this is the last week of this study?  :(  Sad face.  With tears.

When we began this study, I honestly hoped I would be a little more organized.  And that was good.  But then, Glynnis touched on so much more.  Not only is my life a little more organized, but my mind is more clear, and my communication with the Lord is better clarified. And I’m thankful.

Memory Verse:

…Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…
~Hebrews 12:1b- 2a NIV84
As we’ve said before, getting organized isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. Choose one area to organize and focus there from start to finish. Celebrate each completed step and persevere!

Suggested Assignments:

Monday:  Read Chapter 20.
Monday:  Our last conference call was supposed to be tonight with Glynnis Whitwer, but we are rescheduling.  My dad’s mom passed away and the funeral is Tuesday so I will be out of town. We will let you know when the call will take place. If you’d still like to sign up for this conference call series, it’s not too late.  All the calls have been recorded and you can listen on your computer or download. It’s a great series.  Sign up here.
Tuesday:  Visit Heather Bleier’s blog today. She has a message for you. And a give away.
Wednesday:  Visit Stephanie’s blog. She has a message for you. And a give away.
Thursday:  Read Chapter 21.  This is one of my faves because it wraps it all up and keeps it real!
Friday:  Visit Glynnis’ blog. She has a message for you.
Saturday:  Come back to my blog. I have a few words for you to wrap it all up.
Love y’all and I’m so happy that we have this week together. It’s going to be a great last week of study!
Melissa

What a blessing you have been to all of us Melissa! Your honesty and transparency has spoken volumes to me personally and once again I have been so blessed to participate in this study with everyone. I have learned lots about organization, especially when it comes to planning family meals planning! I’m still working on this area and I think it will be a long work in progress! I have especially loved getting to know some beautiful new friends who have formed an incredible support network around my life. I’m so grateful I found you and online bible studies. It was certainly no accident that God let Google lead me to you. Love you heaps,
    Your Aussie sister in Christ

So glad that you will be with us again Debra! This was my 5th study and God has opened doors and transformed areas of my life each time. I’m so glad that you had a great first experience. Looking forward to reading your blog posts in “Unglued.”

My sympathies for you and your family! You have been a blessing for all of us in the study. I am in Nicki Edwards’ small group and I cannot express to you the amount of love, support, and friendship that has been fostered by you both! Nicki and the Group 11 Girls have been fantastic and made this study better than I could have ever imagined! Thank you for giving us this opportunity!!!

  4. So sorry to hear of the death in your family. Will be thinking and praying for all of you this week.
I’m so thankful for your online Bible study, to have a schedule but be able to go off when things go haywire! I’ve appreciated the encouraging words from the people in my group as my personal life became unorganized to say the least! I’ve enjoyed the study, the way Glynnis has written this book about organization not just in our house but our lives and our relationship with Christ.
Hope to have my before and after pics on later this week. :)

I will be praying for you and your family through this difficult time, this online study has been awesome, …… BUT will eventually get organized, love you all, I always thank God for Proverbs 31 ministries as it was no accident coming in contact with you at the most difficult season of my life

    • Kristi Seat says:

      Michelle,

You do not how much you mean to me. Even when you weren’t able to get the book in time for the previous study, you continued to persevere and to continue encouraging the women in this study. You are a true testament to God’s love in spite of life’s circumstances. You bless me every day and I am so blessed to call you my sister in Christ even if you live halfway around the world! Love you!

  6. Praying for you and your family, sweet Melissa! Hard to believe this summer study went by so fast. I’m not much more organized than I was, but as you said, my mind is clearer. Looking forward to Unglued!

  7. Prayers for you and your family!!! <3

  9. Melissa my prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.. Thanks so much for this study…i’ve gained a lot!. I heard Lysa on local radio station this morning talking about her new book “unglued”..hadnt decided to do bible study, but now really want to…need to. God Bless!

  10. Kristi Seat says:

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Melissa. I am so grateful for this study. As all the other women have stated, “I Used to Be Organized” Is about so much more than organization. Glynnis gave us so much practical information and imparted such beautiful truth from God’s words about priorities and the real reason for organization-to keep us from any distraction that would keep us from God’s will. And, I’ve learned through the process that we need to give ourselves grace as well because God will be with us throughout any endeavor.

  11. Melissa, thank you so much for leading this study. It has been truly remarkable and made such a difference in my life. My heart is more intune with God and my house is closer to organization than it’s ever been. I am sorry that you have had such sorrow during these last weeks, I pray these verses for you, “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your heart and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” 2Thessalonians 2:16-17. I can’t wait for the next study!

  12. Carissa D. Huffman says:

This has been a difficult for me. I have been born a slob, it seems. I do not ever remember being neat. I really do not enjoy cleaning or organizing. I have way too mcuh stuff. Our house is SO not well laid out for organization. I really have no money for buying any organizational tools. It’s been tough out here.

But, I have been doing my dishes more consistently. I have been tackling some of the clutter. I have a weekly menu plan on my refrigerator for the first time. I am making baby steps. And, I am learning that my family is my calling at this stage of my life. I really never thought of it that way.

Melissa, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your sweet family in this time of grief. I pray His peace will comfort you.

    Blessings!

  13. I am sorry to hear of your loss Melissa. I pray God helps comfort your family and give all of you peace. I pray He brings to mind the best memories of her.
    God bless!
