  1. Hello my OBS sistahs!!!

I have read some of your blogs and must say my “hope light” is now back on! It’s great to come to a place such as this and be amongst women of God sharing the Word of God and His hope. Thank you.

Chapter 2 Reflection Question #6: Am I freak out woman? To be honest, there are times as I reflect back on my past experiences that I may be considered a freak out woman. But, this is a time for reflection because I desire to make changes in my life not to act this way since I have control over my emotions and behavior. I have learned that it is a good idea to live by the motto, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” I looked up some videos on Youtube today about women freaking out in our society. It was quite an eye opening experience to say the least. If I am not able to stay in control of my emotions, I am not allowing God to help to maintain control of the situation. As a Christian, I am reminded every day that I want to be on God’s side because I find a have a much mor
e fulfilling and happy life. I find that positive affirmations are good for my spirit and seek to read at least one every day. I have learned I want to be a better influence on those around me and lift them up any way I can. But, this is not feasible when I am dwelling on negative thoughts all day or allow others or occurrences to bring me down by acting out of control. I want to impress God by everything I do on a daily basis and that starts with the way I feel toward myself, the way I treat others and how I choose to respond to my life situations. When I have freaked out in the past, I started yelling at those I love and started to lose sight over what I said and how I chose to act. Today, I choose to be a more happy and positive person and that starts with not being a freak out woman. I am reminded of my favorite bible verse Philippians 4:13 (NIV), “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

I thought i would share a funny video with you by Anita Renfroe – William Tell Momisms. She is my favorite Christian comedian.

I really love your comments. I try not to lose control in public but work is so stressful that I have trouble controlling my frustration and emotions. Thanks for your suggestions. I am going to try them. I feel guilty because how can I claim to be a Christian when I am not peace and calm.

  3. 3. Why is renewing our thoughts so crucial?
I need to spend quiet time in God’s presence daily to help me keep my affections & my thoughts directed towards Him. This helps remind me to do everything in His love…my husband & I have a rule that when we feel the other is being ‘unloving’ we tell them ‘I am not feeling loved’…mostly in discussion…then we direct the conversation in love. Keeping thoughts on Him during stressful situations can be challenging! So I have ‘bookmarked’ & copied some scripture on my iphone to reference when I feel I might lose it. If I don’t invest in renewing my thoughts, the crazy world can break you down daily…that is not a fun place to be for me or my family.

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE reading this book. A book MADE for me..and many others too. I can’t stop carrying it around with me. I have to read and reread the words to make things sink in and really stick with me. But…I love this opportunity. Thank you Lord for giving this to me.
