Unglued~Week 2

Jesus Glue

I need it. You need it. We all need it. And that’s why we are doing this Unglued Online Study. Last week I received some “Jesus Glue” in the mail. Perfect timing for our 2nd week of this Bible study.

Remember, when you are feeling unglued, get you some Jesus Glue quick! What is Jesus Glue you might ask? It’s the Word of God. The Bible. Let’s go there now.

Memory Verses for Week 2

Chapter 3

Ephesians 2:10 NIV84

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Chapter 4

James 3:13 NIV84

“Who is wise and understanding among you?  Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.”

Suggested Assignments for Week 2

Did you notice it says “suggested?”  That’s because some of you may not follow these exactly. That’s ok. That’s the beauty of an online study. You can look over all the assignments ahead of time and decide what might work for you. Maybe you need more. Go for it. Maybe you are struggling with just this. At least read the chapters and look up the memory verses. Maybe this is just right. Great!  Remember we are making “imperfect progress.”  What works for one will differ from what works for another.

Sunday~ Pray like you mean it. Take 5 minutes today and simply pray.

Get prepared for Monday. Unglued book, check.  Bible, check. Notebook, check. Pen, check. Highlighter, check.  Place to work/study/read, check.

Monday~ Read Chapter 3, The Prisoners. Use a highlighter to highlight parts you want to remember or come back and read later. Make notes in your notebook.

Monday~ Conference Call #2. SO EXCITED!!!! Author of Unglued, Lysa TerKeurst is our guest!! She will be chatting and sharing with us and getting very real! I respect Lysa as an author, but I know Lysa as a good friend. You will not want to miss this call. Have a question for Lysa?  Email your question to MelissaTaylorQuestions@gmail.com.  All those signed up for the conference calls will be entered to win

Still not signed up for the conference calls?  It’s not too late. Sign up here.  Each call is recorded so you will never miss a thing!

Tuesday~ Visit my blog, www.MelissaTylor.orgh to join in the discussion of Chapter 3.

The rest of this week’s assignments will be posted on Tuesday.

(I’m about Unglued. I finished the entire week’s assignments and got ready to post them and they were gone. It’s already too late on Sunday.)

Share with us in the comment section today any question you’d like me to ask Lysa TerKeurst tonight on the conference call and what you think about Jesus Glue.

Blessings!

Melissa

Well, I’m a little behind I didnt get this weeks email until now. Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. It’s a good thing I have read chapter 3 already but I missed the conference call. :(

  2. Prisoners is what we become when we don’t stay in God’s Word and spend time with our Heavenly Father. I want to be free to be all that God plans for me. Being “Unglued” is a prison that I don’t want to have permanent residence in. The “Jesus Glue” is just what I need to seal the prison gates and be free to be all that God wants for me to be………..amazing insight from our great friends Lysa and Melissa!

  3. For most of my life, I was locked in a prison of my own making…thinking I always needed to be perfect to be truly loved and respected and thinking I was unattractive. Thanks to a great counselor and my godly mother, I have come a long ways. I can now see myself as Jesus sees me. Since perfection is impossible, I have learned to not take myself so seriously and can laugh when I make mistakes. :-). How freeing this has been! One thing that stands out from my counseling is that as a teacher I could be a great role model for my female students (a majority of my class load) by being less than perfect. I had many opportunities to share with them how a bent toward perfectionism can be harmful to them…because I had learned from personal experience.

I have to share as I read through everyone’s struggles and people’s responses to support and love, that this is really an incredible, uplifting group!

  5. Lee Ann Grubbs says:

I am NOT AN UNGLUED WOMAN… I refuse to be… In 5 years none of this will matter. Need prayers, it will all be ok but I have too much going on at the moment & EVERYTHING is high priority:)
    Thank you in advance:)

      Praying!
My husband’s boss said the … In 5 years will this matter… once; it stuck w/ us & try to remember that.
Prayers & thoughts are with you!

  6. Cathy Brown says:

When I think of Jesus glue, I think of God’s love for me. I think of a glue so strong that nothing can penetrate it, no one can separate it, and it can not be destroyed. This special glue called “Jesus” will never fail you. It can not be bought but its something easily obtainable. The unique thing about this glue is that it holds us together differently it mends, repairs, and restores. If you truly believe in its powers it can and will do the extraordinary. It performs miracles that are unnatural to the human eye but natural to the spiritual eye. It’s unique in every essence of the word and it can be used as a solution in every situation. Jesus glue has ALWAYS worked for me so I know with all my being it will work for you. TRY IT!!!
