  1. Jeanette Beck says:

    Melissa,

This study has really helped me. I feel this books as helped me since sometimes I lose it and get very upset with things in my life. I try to please everybody and this has helped me to rely on God more. When I feel like something is happening I tell myself “I am not coming unglued”

  2. Catherine says:

    Jeanette,

I am so happy that this has helped you in your daily life and walk. That is the number one thing I believe God would want for all His children – to be able to guide and help them in every day trials. Praise the Lord.

    Blessings,

  3. The demands of family, work and Hurricane Sandy disrupted my study (at week five) and I’ve fallen behind but I’m determined to see it through to completion and am making ample progress in that direction. I’d like to thank Lisa and the OBS team for first seeing the need for a study such as this; to all the women that participated, sharing your heart and boldly displaying vulnerability when a chapter spoke to you, the bloggers for speaking truth and hope in our lives, the wisdom shared and lessons learned, thank you! I’ve feel bless to have had the opportunity to be a part of this phenomenon and as I move toward the finish line I look forward to learning more about myself, especially why it is so hard, sometimes, for me to hold it all together. Thanks to Lisa and my fellow sisters in Christ, I now have a better understanding of why certain things happen, what’s the lesson for me, and how my reaction can best represent the God in me. I’m not there yet but I can say truthfully that I’m on my way!

  4. Thank you so much Melissa…my first Bible study of any kind. I enjoyed it very much. I learned so much from you and the book. I am not a blogger…I guess I am a silent Bible study student. But read every word and hi-lighted and rewrote and put many things to use. So silent but action filled!!! Thanks again and would do it again if a book you do strikes me….after holidays. God is in my life each and every day and thanks to your help in putting Him there. I hope I will get emails from you on further studies.

  5. Thanks so much for putting these memory verses all in one place. If I got a little behind during the OBS, I tried to print the memory verse. Some of them got mixed up. This was great to have them all together. I’m putting them with my book and notes. Now they’ll all be together. g

  6. Lynn Graham says:

Melissa, I want to thank you for an good study. It seemed in the last 6 weeks I haven’t become unglued as much as I did. now for the 4 questions you wanted us to answer:

    1) what kind of unglued am I?
    2) I peter 5:8 be self controlled and alert your enemy the devil prowls
around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
    3)didn’t do blog hop
    4) I acknowledge that I can control only myself, I can’t control how
another person acts or reacts. therefore I shift my focus from trying to fix the other person and the situation to allowing God to reveal some tender truths to me.

  7. Thanks for the Scripture verses Melissa.

  8. Christine Ann says:

Just have a small slot of time to answer your ‘Unglued Wrap Up’ questions.
    1) My favourite chp in Unglued was ‘ Help I need a Procedure Manual’, especially the section on Biblical Procedure and how King Jehoshophat handled himself and the 3 steps to follow. That chp has impacted me the most and continues to do so in current circumstances.
    2) Favourite memory verse in the study is chp 11; Psalm 19 v 14: May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight , O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer’.
3)Didn’t have a favourite blog hop.
    4) I am taking from Unglued, a fresh insight into handling emotions, a way to relate to others and improve relationships, timeless scriptural truths to meditate in my heart and put into action when needed. The words ‘ Soul Integrity’ have had a huge impact on the way i see myself and relate to others and to have that depth of integrity in my life is my desire and goal as a womanof God.

  9. Unglued Wrap-Up Questions:
Favorite chapter: Chapter 6, the Stuffers.
Favorite memory verse: 2 Corinthians 10:5, We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
This verse gets at the root of all the motivations for exploding and stuffing, comparing, despairing etc. It makes me cognizant of my thought life and helps me root out the bad seeds that lead to unacceptable explosions and stuffings etc.
Favorite blog: Jenny Snyder for her honesty and transparency and her honest struggle and her humility in the face of great odds in her life. She’s my hero, keeping on keeping on, making imperfect progress, not giving in to despair but triumphing over it.
What am I taking from Unglued? An honest approach to self and others, not slighting the one for the other. It has been a revelation to me from Jesus about stuffing emotions. I now ask God to stop me from stuffing and Holy Spirit has been faithful to make me aware when I was unaware, to show me how to internalize my honestly-looked-at emotions, and how to appropriately share them with others. I feel more fulfilled personally and at peace with others because of this. Thank you so much Lysa and Melissa and OBS staff. God bless you.
