Greater Blog Hop: Week One!

Welcome to our first Blog Hop for our Greater study! Each week you will have an opportunity to share your thoughts on what we are studying and we can’t WAIT to learn from you!

Choose one of the following topics from this week’s chapters. Write a blog post and share it with us on today’s Blog Hop. Of course, you are more than welcome to write a post for each of these topics if you’re feeling particularly inspired! Don’t worry if you can’t post your blog today, the Hop will be open until Thursday, December 6th, so you have plenty of time to get your thoughts together.

Don’t have a blog? Use your journal to respond to one or more of these topics OR consider start a blog for FREE through WordPress. Simply follow the instructions on the website.

If this is your first time joining a Blog Hop, here is a short tutorial on how to add the correct link.

Now on to this week’s topics!

1. Greater Things. What are your thoughts on this week’s reflection verse?

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
~ John 14:12 NIV84

2. See ya Mediocrity! What would a “Greater” life for God look like to you?

3. Lifted Up! “The president probably won’t release a statement calling us the greatest anything when we die…Nobody will post a blog entry about our lives…” pg 7
Write a blog post lifting up someone in your life or a person from Scripture who inspires you to live greater!

Here are next week’s topics…

1. At Once. What are your thoughts on this week’s reflection verse?

At once they left their nets and followed Him.
~ Matthew 4:20 NIV84

2. Is this thing on? Elisha had it easy. He knew God had called him to leave the dull behind when the great prophet Elijah showed up at his plow. What about you? Share a time when God spoke clearly into your life. Big or small, how did you discern His calling in your life?

3. Burning my… “For Jesus’ disciples, burning the plows meant leaving their fishing nets and boats {Matthew 4:18-22}. What is it for you?” pg 49

  1. Charolette Ragsdale says:

I enjoyed the blog posts this morning #1 – #21. My favorites are listed below:

#1 Nicki Edwards, Say Goodbye to Mediocrity (Wow, how I could relate to this one)
#4 Erin Cuomo, Mary (I love the video!)
#14 April McCourt, Greater – It Begins with Belief (2 great videos!)
#20 A Greater Life (I loved the way the author summed everything up in this one about having a greater life)

Great job ladies! I only wish I had the time and talent to write blog posts. It is a blessing to learn and share from other sisters in Christ during this study via the blog posts. Thanks the time and effort everyone puts into writing the blogs. It is greatly appreciated. Have a blessed weekend! :)

  2. Amazing blogs and amazing women. Each blog is unique that it represents something special about that particular illustrator. I dont know how to even go about doing a blog or really have the time. I have enjoyed reading the blogs and reading about the ladies insights..Great job everybody!!!!!!!!

  3. Thank you to all of the women sharing their hearts with us! It has been great to read along and be a part of your journey!

  4. I updated my blog hop URL to discuss who Lifted Me Up! :-) It was the intent of sharing my blog this morning, but I was a bit too early.

  5. Good morning all, I am going to continue on this journey; however, I do not have my own blog and for the life of me, cannot figure out how to get my question to post. I did manage to get my picture to post on this page, but links to nothing. I have enjoyed reading everyone’s comments though! I am learning alot about me and the person that God wants me to be already. Like other readers, I am having a hard time putting the book down..want to keep reading!

    Have a blessed day everyone!

    • Laura,
In order to participate in the Blog Hop, you will need a blog as indicated in the instructions above. If you do not have a blog, feel free to journal your response to one of the topics or start your own blog with WordPress.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

  6. Kristy Laird – I too want to watch for God to move, see God move, recognize when God moves and share when God moves. Thank you for the reminder.

  7. The topic that feels most appropriate for me to consider is question #1. I know that I will not see material or physical change in my life for some time. But John 14:12 tells me that if I have faith, I will end up doing greater things, just by simply believing. The act of having faith will lead me on to something Greater. That sounds so comforting and possible for me to do.

  8. Tura Klepfer says:

I love love love the book and was so excited I read it through once before the study started and was so anxious for this study to begin. I am like many of you I didn’t have a blog until today when I signed up for one with wordpress. I am still learning how to do it. I also have You Vision and am having trouble with that but I have faith that GOD will teach me what I need to know. I am so looking forward to being led to something Greater! I love reading the post and maybe sometime will add my own blog post to ya’lls.

  9. G’day everyone!
I just want to say a massive “congratulations” to everyone who has blogged this week on Melissa’s blog hop!
I have almost finished reading EVERY SINGLE BLOG POST and I’m just loving the diversity and the unity of these posts. Sorry I haven’t been able to comment on every post – but I’d be here until Christmas if I did that! So, if I haven’t commented on your post, please don’t be offended and take this comment as my sincere congrats on a job well done. I truly can’t wait to see what next week’s blog hop looks like. And I’m so excited you’re joining us on this study of “Greater”.
Blessings and love to you all.
