Blog Hop, Blogging for Beginners, & Leaving Comments~News You Can Use!

Your turn to share! The skinny on Blog Hops.

I love having the opportunity to share with y’all on my blog as my team and I lead you in this study, but what I love even more is hearing how a study is impacting your life. Each Thursday I give you an opportunity to do just that with the Online Bible Studies Blog Hop.

• I provide you with three or four topics relating to our study. PLUS, I give you the topics in advance with a week to get your post linked. Topics revolve around the chapters and Bible verse from that week.
• You can write and share a post for as many of the topics as you feel lead.
• This is a wonderful way for you to share your reactions and insights with thousands of women from around the world.

Below is a step-by-step video teaching you how to share your post on our Blog Hop. If you have any other questions after watching the video, please leave a comment.

How do I link my post to the Blog Hop?

    Sister in Christ

  24. Emily Elkins says:

    Emily in Tennessee

  25. I just watch the first video and I am both excited and intimidated at the same time. This has been a very difficult year for me and my family. I know The Lord has led me here to Let. It. Go!

  26. So excited about this book and study. Can’t wait to see what God has in store for me,” Let It Go” is exactly what I’ve needed.

  27. I just read the first chapter. WOW. First of all Psalm 118:8 – It is better to take refuge in the Lord than in humans. First of all after I read the first chapter I did not reliaze how I DI NOT put my trust in God.
I really did not know how much of a control freak I really am. WOW. I can not wait to learn how to determine the difference between being conscientious and being in control. I deffently control to cover up. I guess I really do not trust God. OUCH! This hurts. I really thought I did. The sentence “We behave as if in our individual situations, we still know what’s best.”. Boy how hard is this. I took the Control Quotient = 43! I am will ing to share. I am going to learn to LET IT GO.

  28. I’m hoping this study will not only help me to LET GO and LET GOD but to let go of the controlling attitude at home. I can’t wait to read the book so GOD (I almost typed I ) can change my heart and get rid of this terrible “disease”. I have tried on my own to stop being such a control freak but I’ve failed. This study is for me…I just know it and I cannot wait to connect with God and YOU ALL for the next several weeks. God, I pray that you will open my mind to be open to all the new things that will be shared during this study, AMEN

  29. I read your email for the online bible study, and I read chapter 1 so far. Wow I didn’t think I was that controlling until I took the quiz but my hubby had an equal score so this will be good for us both I’m sure:)

  30. I’m gonna try this bloggin thing.lol:-)

  31. Ready. Set. Let it go!! What a blessing it is to have so many wonderful ladies to study and grow in faith with. Im very excited to dig in and experience all that God has in store :)
    Jessica from Indiana

  32. Anita England says:

What a great start to my morning to focus on trusting God and letting go of my control habits. Thank you for your leadership to walk me through this new path. I am thrilled to see what life is like with God taking my hand in full leadership of my life. Anita from Illinois.

  33. I am so looking forward to this Bible Study, I have to work every Sunday and am not able to go to church with my family. It is hard to stay connected. I need that Sunday refresher to go through another week. This will be great because it is a daily one that I can do everyday to keep me focused. I would like my daughter who is 17 to also do this so I am encouraging to also join in. I do not have a blog but am going to step out of my comfort zone and try it.

  34. It’s about not trusting God when we do not let go of things that we cannot control!!

Never thought of it this way but it’s so true!!

Love this study and thank you for your precious time in sharing with us!

  35. Brianna Thomas says:

Excited to begin the Let It Go Study!

  36. I want to give God his job back! I write verses down and try to memorize them. Letting It Go in Purcellville, VA.

  37. Carol Chester says:

Loved today’s video. Favorite part was the parting message -“God called and He wants His job back – He’s God – I’m not” This is perfect timing because I am so tired of all the responsibility of running everything.

    • I read this again today and listened to the video. Page 22. “We don’t really trust God. ” We believe IN God. Our lips say we trust him but our actions say the opposite. OH this hit me over the head.
I still did not get my book for tomorrow Chapter 2.

  38. I am still reading chapter one. but i can relate to the video , and also part of chapter one. i feel that i going out of Controe expercy with my 6 year old daughter. i am trying to get her to listen and i have to tell her like 5 times to do something and i get so frugrated and out of controe. i want everything perfect and if that something is not done right i start yelling and getting very upset. i want to really try and be able to let it go and just go with the flow . i can see this study is going to help me and sure will help a lot of other ladies out there. thank u Melissa for doing this study. god bless u sorry about the spelling.

  39. Lynee Welding says:

I really related to the video. I see myself as the little girl who thinks she knows best. It is scary to see the same character traits in my children. My goal is to learn that I don’t have to control everything and that I can trust in the Lord because of his love for me. I am getting tried of trying to control and manipulate my circumstances. Blessings to all of you! :)

  40. Lynee Welding says:

Sorry Ladies – I am from South Dakota.

  41. Judy Huffman from Michigan says:

I think The Lord is telling me that I need to do this Bible study. I had originally signed up and then decided not to do it. However I got placed in a group and I’m getting the messages from Melissa and my group leaders so I have decided to stick with it!

  42. One of my struggles is not wasting time on the web each day, so I am not going to start a blog. I have a hard enough time not scrolling incessantly through the daily posts. I do appreciate those who can blog with control, I’m just not sure I’m there yet and will keep temptation at bay for a while!

  43. Thank you for the new study! The video of Karen was great – love being able to see it. The one think I took away, of many, is that I more than often ask if God really said that. During a time in my life when I was so closely walking with God I know I heard him say two very specific things to me and brought me a situation I had prayed and prayed about. All I could think of was that it happened to fast and that it couldn’t possbily been God that had said it. I took back control and my life took a giant step backward in my walk. I regret that to this day. Now I don’t know when God is talkin and when I am telling him. I am hoping this study gets me back on the right track in walking so closely with God that I will know.

  44. Letting God Lead is is difficult when you don’t get what you desire. In the interum you feel hurt, discouraged and not sure if God is listening. Leaving control is dificult when I feel I know best. I pray I will learn the tools and gain knowledge to be able to do so. Especially during this journey of trying to become pregnant. God Bless! Thank you for the opportunity to hear Gods words. He is truely beautiful and remember we are truely blessed regardless of the rainstorm.

I use sticky notes and put all over my office cubie

    God Bless!

  45. Ashley Adams says:

This is perfect timing. I have been burdened about our student ministry at our church. I have felt that I have to be a part in the begining, during, and after of this ministry. Possibly God is saying to let it go and see what he can do with it! I loved the Dog and Cat analogy.

  46. loved the video I would love to find the way to give God his job back

  47. Joyce Accardi says:

This year I want to make a new beginning that is to really get to know God and to deepen my walk with HIM. I came to know about this OBS by God’s perfect timing
To truly learn how to let God take control of my life and to depend on HIM completely is my goal for this study.
I am currently living in Malaysia and helping my husband run a learning center for a Christian home school program. Thank you so much for making this study available to people like me.

  48. Danielle Wright says:

My take away from the video was the idea that we control because we don’t trust God. Although I don’t like the idea, I believe it. I know personally I have trouble depending on others or delegating tasks on committees or at work, because it makes me feel vulnerable. I think the root cause is exactly what she has proposed – I control because don’t trust, whoever it might be. How crazy is that, that I think I know better than God?! Pretty crazy. This first video was exactly what I needed to see to put my control issues in perspective.

  49. All my life I’ve been one of those people who would do all the work of a whole committee, or a single job assigned to someone else, just because I wanted to know that it was done “right,” or “my way.” When my kids were smaller, I would redo their chores! As they’ve grown, their hurt feelings at my actions have been shared with me, and left me feeling horrible.

I’ve known for a long time that my behaviors are borne out of mistrust. I make decisions for my life and justify them by saying that it’s what God wants for me, because I want what I want and do not want to wait on Him.

This is going to be a real challenge for me, but I’m ready to delve into it deeply since I decided recently to quit my job with a ministry so that I can begin to seek the plan God has for my life. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds for me.

    • Carol Chester says:

It never occurred to me that my lack of desire to delegate or ask for help was from a foundation of mistrust. I think I just had a lightbulb moment.

  50. I love this video.I thought of times in my life when I thought thing should work out a certain way. A case of this was when I was young I had an unfortunate romance.I kept thinking if i worked at it it would turn out my way. God Knew this man wasn’t for me, GOD PROTECTED ME> I SHOULD HAVE LET IT GO!!!!!
