This week’s topics:

1.  Healed. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. ~ Psalm 147:3 God raised HisSon in three days…imagine what He can do when you dig into this verse for three days! Map our reflection verse and share with us how your heart responds to His living and active Word.

2.  Breaking Point. Chapter 10. What has brought you to your breaking point? Once you share, end with a prayer turning over your circumstances to God so that He can begin to bring healing and restoration. Has God already brought you healing? Then share your joy with us so that others may be encouraged!

3.  Miracles. In this day and age, miracles still happen…we simply have a harder time believing them. If you have ever experienced or witnessed a miracle, we would LOVE to hear your testimony of His Glory

Next week’s topics:

1. Intercede. “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” ~Romans 8:26 NIV Map our reflection verse and share with us how your heart responds to His living and active Word.

2.  Motions. Chapter 11. Ever feel like you’re going through the motions of faith? Allow this song by Matthew West to bring you encouragement. What will you do next?

  1. On ou way to court, praying God will walk with us through this and carry us. Looking forward to reading the blogs when I get home. Thank you to all who have prayed for us.

  2. Christine says:

I like the blog hop, I get even more encouraged by reading everyone’s insights into our lessons!

  3. Anyone read and comment on the blogs using their iPhone? Im traveling and although I can READ, my phone isn’t letting me COMMENT on other blogs! I can comment here though…HA! Just thought I’d ask!!!

Thank you SO much for the blog hop!!! I NEEDED to write, but really to READ this week. God is sending me a message LOUD and very CLEAR… Im not alone. He is with me. Others have walked this road too. Keep going. Oh, how I needed that!! THANK YOU!!!

  4. Just got back from court and realized that God isn’t really there anymore. I’m stopping my Bible study. Scripture say God will never leave you or forsake you. I feel totally abandoned. My son is jail, refused mental health court. Why oh God have you abandoned my family?

    • Becky, Please don’t lose hope yet. God is still there even if things didn’t turn out that way you had hoped. Even though there is darkness, there is light out there.

My husband’s friend committed suicide recently. It was an old friend of his and I only met him once. When we went to the funeral home for the visitation there was a line out the door and around the building. We waited for about 30 min. to get inside and the line was just as long when we left. All I think of was how incredibly sad, heart breaking, and tragic is was that for whatever reason, my husband’s friend wasn’t able to see or feel the light of love and support from all of those people.

I pray that God stays near you and gives you strength and faith to keep believing.

    • Jodi OBS leader says:

Oh, Becky. God has not left you. This is a cruel world, but He is not. God has something bigger in this for you and for your son. Please stay with us and talk to any of us leaders. We are here for you. I’m sending a virtual hug. To you and your son. God has you in his mighty hands and he will NEVER leave you

    • I read #4 and I liked the reminder that God can and will use your brokenness to jump start your breakthrough… But how? How does God do this? How does He heal? By your faith.

Becky, I do not know your situation and I cannot pretend to know that pain, but I assure you God is there. This chapter is perfect timing. Maybe this situation is the brokenness God needs to use you and your son and your family to launch you into your breakthrough. He can use your hurt and pain and create something beyond your wildness imagination if you allow him. Hold onto God. Don’t run from Him. He can heal you, but He needs your faith in Him to do so. We’ve all had our moments of anger- why God? Why me? I have. Hold onto His promises and His good and perfect plan. Your pain and misery can be used to minister to others. Praying for you!

    • Marie (Ree) says:

      Becky,
Please don’t leave us! I’ll share with you something that a friend shared with me …She made me realize that even the 23rd Psalm tells us “Yea though I walk THROUGH the valley” …..not up to it, or around it, but THROUGH the valley! And it also tells us “For Thou art with Me”. So he has not abandoned you!! We can’t begin to know why God has allowed this to happen, but he does have a plan.

Please Don’t give up on your faith! I’m praying hard for you today!!

John 20:29 “Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those who have Not seen, Yet Believe”

    • Katrina says:

Becky, my heart and prayers are going out to you and your son. When I read your comment, I was reminded of what Tracie wrote on pg 207: “God cannot use people greatly until he has broken them deeply.” It certainly sounds like your situation with your son has broken you deeply, and for that I’m truly, truly sorry. I know this probably isn’t the answer you’re looking for, but I wan’t to remind you of what Tracie goes on to say in that same qoute: “And when we embrace our brokenness, we are ready for breakthrough.” While you may not be ready to embrace your brokenness today, I want to encourage you not to let go of your faith and to at least cling to the hope that God can and will use all of this for good in the future, even if you can’t see that possibility right now. It is through your wounds that He wants to draw you near to him, not away from him. And it is through your continued faith despite your wounds, even faith as small as a mustard seed, that He will heal you of your brokenness and bring you to a break through.

      • Dear Becky , I don’t know you either but feel I should speak to you in this time of great pain. I understand your feelings of why God have you forsaken me and my family. I , too , asked this question of God on December 28 , 2008, when I arrived at a hospital to find out my son had committed suicide. Although I still do not understand why it had to be God allowed my son this path , because I know he could have stopped it, it has been clear from the beginning that God loved my son dearly and loves me and my family dearly too. I now can say that I know that God did not leave my son , or me in spite of this tragic loss. I pray even now for you and your son. I pray Jesus to lift your head and the head of your son above the raging sea and that he will strengthen you in every way. I pray that Jesus will pour his presence out so you can support your son in his time of struggle in a way that brings him and you great comfort. I pray you will have peace right now and throughout this ordeal as only God can bring. Thank you for allowing me to speak into your life right now. I will keep praying for you Becky and your son and family. May God bless you with great hope and blessings in spite of the situation. Amen. Liz

    • Diane W. says:

Hi Becky, I’ve been praying for you, since last week. Psalm 34: 18 says, “The Lord is close to the broken hearted, and He rescues those who are crushed in spirit. He is our stronghold and our shelter”. He is there. He never left you. I know that God is totally in control and he will work things out in his timing, not yours. Proverbs 4:20 “Gods word brings life and health. He does not want our heart to be afraid”. Please don’t turn away from the One who gives us life”. Our faith is not based on what he does, but who He Is. Keep believing! Stay in Gods word! Love and Hugs!

  6. Katrina says:

Did I ever mention that I love blog hop day? Only every week, lol! Seriously though, the talent and stories never cease to amaze me. Thank you ladies for shring your beautiful hearts with us all!

  7. When I first joined the OBS, I wasn’t really sure what these blogs were all about. And was all this hopping? :) Now, I really look forward to the Blog Hop each Thursday. It is so fun and so interesting to read what other women have to say about the weekly topics and there are some wonderfully talented writers here!

  8. Tiffany says:

    Hello,

I’m new here and I would like to say “hello” to everyone. I’m so excited to have joined this group….

    Thx

  9. @ Becky, Although I agree with everyone that God has not forsaken you, I too have experienced the God-forsakenness of our court systems. There may be a few God-fearing judges and attorneys somewhere but for the most part my experience has been power-hungry greed-driven people who do not care about humanity or justice. Ladies, yes we need to pray for Becky and her family but we need to PRAY for our court system because there are many many other families suffering as well. God and His laws need to be upheld. Lord have mercy on America!
