Online Bible Studies
I started doing online Bible studies on my blog back in January, 2011.
The purpose was to share hope with anyone who needed it. I knew I struggled in various areas of life and I learned I wasn’t alone. Proverbs 31 Ministries recognized the value of doing online studies together right away and offered support, resources and guidance for me as I lead the studies and for the participants (later named OBSers) who were signing up to be a part of them. By the way at the time, I was the administrative assistant in the Proverbs 31 office.
After a few years hosting Bible study on my blog, Proverbs 31 hired me as the Director of Online Bible Studies and the studies moved from my personal blog to the Proverbs 31 website in 2013, where they are still hosted today. We have done over 50 studies and lead close 1 million (maybe more) through Bible studies that have offered hope, love and acceptance. Each one is more than a Bible study, it’s also a community. It’s a place to learn more about Jesus and the Bible. It’s a place to be yourself, ask questions and start to live life with hope and excitement for the future (at any age).
Today I am still directing the OBS department at Proverbs 31 and I’m still passionate and excited about online Bible study. I feel that now, more than ever, it’s needed. And I’m excited once again to lead some of these Bible studies right here on the Home page of this site.
Beginning in April, 2022, I’ll be leading a Proverbs 31 study here. Not because it’s part of my job, IT’S NOT. It’s because I personally miss it! I miss the personal connection and what happens when I’m leading a group at my own place (here!). A place to learn. A place to encourage and be encouraged. No intimidation, no expectations. No politics. No advertisements. Just a place to belong, where everyone belongs. So, while lots of the time I’ll just be writing and sharing life here, there will be other times I’ll be doing Bible study with anyone who wants to join me!
